What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is an established ‘talking therapy’ that has a solution-oriented approach to the treatment of personal psychological issues. Combining the use of light trance with brain based therapy, hypnotherapy enables positive life changes.
In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we focus on what the client wants to achieve (the solution) rather than what prompted them to seek help (the problem).

Understanding Your Needs
For most people hypnotherapy will be something new and unknown and they will want to know a bit more about it before deciding whether to try it, so I’m offering the initial consultation “free of charge”, where I will explain how we will work together and how Hypnotherapy will help you to become the best version of you.
In this initial 60 minute session, we will focus on your concerns and any relevant historical information in order to fully understand the landscape of your current well -being. We’ll discuss the neuroscience behind how the brain works and how this understanding will enable you to overcome issues that you may be facing.
Working Together
It’s important that we work together to enable the best outcome for you, our relationship will be one where we work together to define solutions that will benefit you, and help you put in motion the actions to enable positive life changes. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative therapy, it isn’t something that is ‘done’ to you to quickly fix an issue or problem – changes happen because you enable them to happen.
Results Tracking
We will track your results using measurable outcomes so that you can see the benefits that Hypnotherapy is bringing to you. Using simple techniques such as REM and trance, we will help you to empty your stress bucket, enabling a better you.
Each session will be monitored in order to show your improvement. From there, I will give you access to a free recording that you can use at home so you can continue your progress away from the consulting room.
What is Trance?
Trance is a very natural, relaxing state, most people go into trance several times a day if they are watching TV, out for a run or daydreaming then they are in a light trance, operating from their subconscious, it’s a wonderful tool that allows us access to the subconscious mind and it’s very easy to induce.
Whilst in trance you will remain in complete control of all your faculties, drifting and daydreaming whilst I talk to you using metaphoric suggestion, trance is incredibly relaxing and you will enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this time, which generally lasts around 30 mins
During The Session
Sessions are structured and could be considered in two parts
Part 1 – Psychotherapy
The first part of the session is the Psychotherapy part – this involves us asking you what has been different in your life? What has been better, even in very small ways and scaling this to help us map improvements in your wellbeing.
Doing this increases creativity and positive, happy memories are accessed spontaneously and far more often. We will use a “miracle question” in each session to help enable improvements and set goals that can be achieved easily
It’s important to note that the therapy is totally non-judgmental, encourages mindfulness, and is respectful of your own self, we may also use NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques that will help us address phobic or compulsive responses.
Part 2 – Trance
The second half of the session is trance. Entering trance is easy! On the therapist’s couch, you are given pillows and a blanket to keep you comfortable and relaxed. As you go into trance, you will be in a relaxed, pleasant but concentrated state where you have a heightened awareness.
Trance allows us access to the subconscious mind, and this is when we will use metaphors to help and assist you achieve your goals. Trance uses the natural ability of the resting mind to create a lasting and hugely effective, positive outcome. We will see a difference.
If your session is online, you can use a comfortable spot in your home (or wherever you are) for the trance portion of our session.

How It Works
Initial Consultation
Booking a free initial consultation at a date & time that suits you ,either face-to-face or online. There is no trance work in this initial session
Follow Up Sessions
I will advise how many follow-up sessions will give you the best results possible. These sessions will consist of half talk-therapy and half trance.
Freedom & Happiness
That’s it! After your sessions, expect to feel less anxious, happier, and more in control of your life. If needed, we can continue with occasional sessions.
